Tax Preparation Services

On This Page:

The Personal Finance Center participates in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provided in partnership with United Way of Central Florida.  Our team of IRS-certified volunteers prepares tax returns at no cost for clients with household incomes of $66,000 or less.  We e-file most returns, so if you are due a refund and choose direct deposit, you should receive your refund within a couple of weeks.

More than that, we are passionate about the financial stability of our clients.  Building a savings account to help with emergencies is key to becoming financially stable.  Our tax experts can help you split your refund to put some cash into savings.

Note:  The filing deadline for tax returns and taxes owed has been extended to July 15, 2020. The IRS urges taxpayers who are due a refund to file as quickly as possible.  We regret that we will be unable to re-open any of our free tax preparation sites this year to complete 2019 returns.

Are you interested in being a volunteer?  We need greeters and preparers, and would love to have YOU!  We provide the IRS training free of charge, so you will be confident and competent.  To find out more about volunteering, please contact us.

The PFC staff and volunteers celebrate Alice Childs (left), honored as the "2019 Volunteer of the Year."  Alice is a five-year volunteer, and our clientele love working with her year after year.  Thank you, Alice!

Late Filers:  We are not preparing previous years' returns at this time, but anticipate providing this service later this summer.  We will post the most current preparation schedule here as soon as possible.
