Tax Preparation Services
On This Page:
The Personal Finance Center participates in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provided in partnership with United Way of Central Florida. Our team of IRS-certified volunteers prepares tax returns at no cost for clients with household incomes of $66,000 or less. We e-file most returns, so if you are due a refund and choose direct deposit, you should receive your refund within a couple of weeks.
More than that, we are passionate about the financial stability of our clients. Building a savings account to help with emergencies is key to becoming financially stable. Our tax experts can help you split your refund to put some cash into savings.

2021 Free Tax Preparation Sites
Our primary concern is to protect the public, our volunteers, and staff from COVID-19 while continuing to provide free tax preparation services to the public. Locations with drop off hours will accept your tax information (no appointment necessary for drop off), and schedule an appointment for you to pick up your completed return within seven days at the same location. Locations with same day turnaround will require an appointment for tax preparation. Please be sure to check below for a list of what documents to bring.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Are you interested in being a volunteer? We need greeters and preparers, and would love to have YOU!
We have designed a process to limit volunteer contact to only our staff members and other volunteers, with no in-person contact with taxpayers. We provide the IRS training free of charge (most likely via ZOOM), so you will be confident and competent. To find out more about volunteering, please contact us.

The PFC staff and volunteers celebrate Alice Childs (left), honored as the "2019 Volunteer of the Year." Alice is a five-year volunteer, and our clientele love working with her year after year. Thank you, Alice!
